Who Cares?

These folks have Hamm-tone

Bob Odenkirk
Picture

Saul Goodman plays a Hamm-tone.  I don't quite understand this reality but it is an absolute honour.

KC is Lazy
Picture
KC is now a local Winnipeg singer/songwriter/composer/artist, hailing from Germany/UK and is very talented and smart. Proud to know her.

Jay Nowicki (Perpetrators)

Picture
Jason is a very good blues guitar player.  He's been everywhere.  He plays an old Saturn, an Indonesian Squier Tele and also a Hamm-tone Railcar 427 Flat-top with a Fralin P90 and a Fralin Tele bridge pickup.

Ridley Bent

Picture
Ridley Bent is a modern country music singing/rapping star from British Columbia.  He's one of the coolest guys in music right now.  He plays a Hamm-tone D-28 style guitar.   www.ridleybent.ca/page_bio.php

Oli Brown (Raven Eye)

Picture
Oli is one of the most important young guitarists to come out of the UK in many years.  He plays a Hamm-tone Rail-car.  Watch his many videos on youtube and you'll know what I mean.
Click here to see his guitar.

Rachel Ries

Picture
Rachel was my very first customer in the winter of 1999.  She's is always inspiring and creating.  Currently a mid-west settler in Minnesota, I believe.  Look up her music.  She's also one of the best.

Pokey LaFarge

Picture
Pokey owns an archtop guitar I built a few years back. It's one of his songwriting guitars.

Chris Saywell

Picture
Chris is one of the best guitar players on the Canadian Prairies.  He's a founding member of the D. Rangers and plays with Jess Reimer.

Rob Waddell

Picture
Rob is a rural man who lives in Winnipeg and has a reputation for being a really solid songwriter and singer.  He's got a J style guitar.

Chris Dunn (Ridley Bent)_

Picture
Chris Dunn is a member of the "Three Hamm-tone Club".  He's one of the best guitarists in western Canada.  He is Ridley Bent's right-hand man.  Check out their website here: www.ridleybent.ca/page_bio.php

Burnstick

Picture
I'm fortunate to have built both Jason and Nadia guitars.  A fantastic duet, they're around, look for them at a festival near you!

Keri Latimer of Leaf Rapids

Picture
Keri is awesome.  I built a CS electric style guitar body then she painted her perspective of a Van Gogh on it.  Then I finished the guitar.  Check out Leaf Rapids when you can.  She is a terribly talented singer and songwriter, artist, quilter, creator of good things.

Del Barber

Picture
I built Del an OM-28 a few years back.  It's good to have a smaller guitar kicking around the house for writing. He also has a Hamm-tone J200 style guitar, a J-45 Gibson, and many other fine left handed instruments!

Michael P Falk(Les Jupes)

Picture
Mike is the frontman for Les Jupes.  They are absolutely wicked.  You must try to see them.  They're everywhere.

Simon Davis

Picture
This guy is one son of a gun of a guitar player.  He's a fine flatpicker and yet also manages to leave the Bluegrass genre when he feels like it and seems to be quite at home on his Hamm-tone tele.  He is a genuine country music playing truck driving man.

Dwayne Dueck

Picture
Dwayne is quite the guy.  He's one of the most popular old-school country dudes in the province.  He used to be Big Dave McClean's guitar slinger, a member of the Rowdymen and well known and appreciated.  He too, plays a Hamm-tone.  It's a 13 fret dreadnought.

Ken Kansas

Picture
Look for Ken Kansas.  He sings, writes, fishes, plays and lets us know that there is a different way of doing it.  In addition to being a musicin, he's also a scientist.  He's responsible for aerating a large number of Manitoba lakes and reintroducing native fish species back to their natural habitat.  Important guy here.
Jaxon Haldane
Picture
Jaxon is responsible for a huge amount of Winnipeg's Times Change(d) High & Lonesome Club's success.  Fronting the D.Rangers, maintaining people's interest in the local music scene and beyond.  He's an accomplished music producer and much more.

Bob Wiseman

Picture
Bob Wiseman, keyboardist, singer, songwriter, producer, actor, is a politically active leader in Canadian music.  He too, plays a Hamm-tone.  He's important, don't you forget it!

Micah Erenberg

Picture
Micah is a modern day Townes VanZandt.  He plays the Dyck Hamm-tone.  He is involved in many different projects on the prairies, among them Smash the Sun and currently "The Secret Beach".

Aaron Goss

Picture
Aaron Goss, permanent mandolin player of Winnipeg's infamous D. Rangers, now electric mandolin player for the heavy hitting metal band "Potatos".  Mandolins are quite versatile.

Tim Loewen

Picture
Tim from the Precious Fathers, and formerly Destroyer has a jumbo style acoustic.

Jody Benjamin

Picture
Jody is an absolutely solid guitarist and a fantastic singer/yodeller/harmonizer.  She lives in the Ottawa Valley area and tours regularily.

TJ Blair, Mag 7's, Blonde Goth

Picture
TJ Blair has a sweet piercing tenor voice and writes music from the perspective of a seasoned philosopher.  His band the Mag7's is based out of Winnipeg and bridges the gap between Bill Monroe and Kurt Cobain.  Check out their site!  Click here to see T.J.'s guitar.

Rob Wrigley

Picture
Rob, a multi-genre multi-instrumentalist, plays a Hamm-tone L-001/2 with a variety of bands.  He plays in The Stony Point Power Trio, a band with his talented sons "Double the Trouble", and a handful of others.  In his Grateful Dead tribute band, he represents Jerry Garcia.  How cool is that?

Chris Carmichael

Picture
Chris Carmichael has played with Sue Foley, Big Dave McClean, Romi Mayes and more.  He's a monster of a guitar player.

Grant Siemens

Picture
Grant is a local Winnipeg guitar slinger who is Corb Lund's sideman.  He mainly plays a Hahn 226, but he also has a Bigsby Standard style electric guitar that I made some years ago for him and a Hamm-tone D-18 style acoustic.  Grant is a nice guy and a killer musician.

Eric Lemoine (F-Holes &           Little Miss Higgins)

Picture
Accomplished pedal steel player Eric Lemoine also knows how to swing the banjo.  The winter of 2013 saw his banjo get stolen along with a pile of other gear while on tour out west.  Eric asked me to build him a replacement banjo for him and I did.  You can see it on this website somewhere.

Jess Reimer

Picture

She is a Canadian prairie bluegrass/folk/Americana songwriter.  Her newest album is getting a lot of attention, it is called "The Nightjar and the Garden".  Even Ron Sexsmith is singing backup vocals on this one, produced by Bob Wiseman.

Secondhandpants

Picture
Curt plays a little mahogany ukulele I built for him.   He's the main man (and his brother too) of the Secondhandpants.  They're all over youtube and may come to a town near you!

Tim Osmond

Picture
Tim is one of the best Scruggs/Fleck/Clawhammer banjo players in Canada today.  He's got a 1927 Gibson Mastertone and a 2004 "Goertzen-Hamm"(er).  It's got a Culesh Big Ten tone ring and Tim says he likes to use it for his more modern stuff.  He's got the one of the 3 banjos I've ever built.
