1956 was a good year.
This guitar has been hanging around the shop on the back burner since '19. I have it together now and quite like it. It's a Paul Bigsby inspired (obviously) guitar which has a few cool features worth knowing about. The pickups were wound by Kris Remillard here in Winnipeg, and are P90 sized Jazzmaster style Anico 5 slugs/bobbin inside some slick (not exactly the same as) Bigsby inspired aluminum covers and trim rings which my friend Randy procured. I filed the bridge out of a chunk of aluminum. It has a Bigsby trem, exotic rosewood fretboard, mahogany neck and body with a torrefied birdseye maple drop top. It has a four position switch, which gives you neck, neck and bridge in parallel, bridge, then finally both pickups in series. The nut is bone and 1.660" wide. If you play an F chord with your thumb, the neck will feel quite comfortable for you. The neck shape is a vintage moderate V and has a 25.4" scale. Dual action trussrod, and compound 9-12 inch radius fretboard. It is lovely.
